Eine kleine Motivation zur Mitarbeit beim in diesen Wochen wieder auflebenden Ulmer Freifunk.
Am Donnerstag habe ich an der Uni einen WLAN-Router mit einem von Julian gebastelten freifunk-Image neu geflasht. Hat ganz gut geklappt, das tinc-VPN lief und B.A.T.M.A.N. ermöglichte auch dass Pakete zu allen anderen „Mitspielern“ gelangen konnten.

Eine Vorabversion dieses Textes wurde im Schaschlik Nr. 3/2010, dem Magazin der KLjB Rottenburg-Stuttgart, veröffentlicht, weil ich es nicht geschafft hatte, eine finale Version vor Drucklegung einzureichen. Darum an dieser Stelle noch einmal meine Gedanken zum Thema „Beziehung“, in einer Fassung, die mir wesentlich besser gefällt.
Begegnet man alten Freunden oder Bekannten nach längerer Zeit wieder, hört man oft die Frage „Na, hast du gerade jemanden?“. Meine Antwort lautet in den letzten Jahren meist ungefähr so: „Ne Freundin? … Nein, eine Freundin hab ich nicht und ich will auch keine »Beziehung« mehr.“ Nach dieser Aussage ergibt sich oft (und durchaus von mir gewollt) ein interessantes Gespräch, sowie meistens auch eine echte Grundsatzdiskussion. I’m writing this text sitting in an aeroplane, currently crossing the Alps, returning home from Palermo to the south of Germany. For about 8 days I participated in a workshop entiteled „Present Continuous“: 43 people of all ages coming from 16 different nations trying to determine Europe by putting down their personal experiences, bringing in the knowledge they gathered and discussing some thoughts about the future.

For me thinking about my identity has for a very long time and until now always brought up the strongest connections to the culture of the European countries. There are surely lots of influences beyond that territorial scope but more important: I could never relate to any smaller, potentially national set. Continue reading
